Back to Different and Thriving

Give yourself a round of a pause.

It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it? We’ve become so accustomed to this “new normal,” we might even start to forget that this has been a decidedly abnormal and difficult adjustment process. Many of us have been existing in the ‘neither here nor there space’ for months on end: feeling lost, disconnected, burned out.

If you’ve made it thus far — and I’m assuming you have, if you’re reading this blog — give yourself a sincere pat on the back. You’re still here. You’ve survived a global pandemic, adjusted to a new work/life balance, taken care of your family, perhaps even maintained a shred of sanity amidst it all… (Or maybe not. That’s alright too.)

This is your reminder to give yourself grace and acknowledgment for all that you have achieved. Take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the resiliency and adaptability you demonstrated in different capacities throughout the past year, and consider how you got to where you are today:

  • Whom did you rely on?

  • What new skills did you discover or rediscover?

  • What helped you?

  • What are you grateful for?

How can you continue to use these findings and tools to your advantage — so that one day you might wake up and discover that you’re not only surviving, but flourishing once again?

Hugs and joy
